Lucknow International Film Festival 2025 — Rules & Regulations

Please read these rules carefully before submitting your film. One application form applies to all film formats.

General Guidelines

• Primary Contact Person should be someone directly involved in the film (e.g., producer/sales agent). They’ll be the main point of contact.

• Provide accurate contact details for all producers and rights holders.

• Contact details of the rights holder (often the producer) will be published in the festival catalogue if selected.

• Avoid USING ALL CAPS while filling the form.

• The form is best filled on a computer (not a phone).

• You can save and resume later. Use the ‘Save Work and Finish Later’ button.

• Mandatory fields must be filled; if not applicable, write “NA.”

• Stick to the word limits. Lucknow International Film Festival may edit synopses for the catalogue.

• Submit before the deadline. Incomplete forms will not be considered.

• Pay the non-refundable application fee online only (no waivers).

Legal & Submission Declaration

• By applying, you confirm you’re legally authorized to submit and that all information is accurate.

• Any disputes will be governed by the laws of India under the jurisdiction of Mumbai.

Selection & Programming

• Selection is solely at the festival’s discretion. You may indicate a preferred section, but the final section is decided by the Lucknow International Film Festival team.

• No pre-screenings or film links will be accepted via email.

• No feedback will be given for rejections.

• Selections must remain confidential until officially announced. Breach may lead to disqualification.

CBFC Certification

• CBFC certification is not required for submission.

• If certified, only the certified version will be screened.

• If uncertified, Lucknow International Film Festival will apply for exemption unless your film is already in the CBFC process—then it’s your responsibility to get the certificate in time.

• Selected films must include the CBFC certificate in the DCP.

Public/Private Screenings

• Public screening includes any screening open to the public (free or paid).

• Private previews (cast, crew, distributors only) and market screenings are eligible.

• Participation in other festivals or awards does not guarantee selection.

Screener Submission

• Only downloadable, password-protected online links accepted (Vimeo preferred).

• Film file size must be under 5 GB.

• Email film links only after completing the application.

• Screener must remain active until 15th August 2024.

• One video link per film only.

• Include English subtitles—even if the film is in English.

• No dubbed versions are accepted.

Revised Versions

• Submit only one version of your film. Revised submissions post-selection are not accepted.

Multiple Submissions

• You may submit more than one film, but each requires a separate form and fee.

Requirements for Selected Films

1. DCP (for screening):

   • With English subtitles (burnt-in or XML)

   • 2K/4K, Stereo or 5.1 audio

   • Encrypted DCPs must include KDMs

2. Backup copy:

   • High-res ProRes or H.264, with embedded English subtitles

3. Trailer:

   • In ProRes or H.264, with English subtitles

4. Stills/Posters:

   • High-res JPEG/PNG format

5. Film Info:

   • Synopsis (max 150 words), director/producer bios & filmographies, cast/crew list, production company details

6. Subtitles:

   • All films must have accurate, clear English subtitles (at your cost)

• All materials must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the festival.

Insurance & Promotion

• Lucknow International Film Festival covers screening material insurance while in possession.

• Excerpts (up to 3 mins) may be used for promotion.

• Participation in Q&As, interviews, etc., is encouraged if selected.

Indemnity

By submitting, you agree to indemnify the Lucknow International Film Festival against any third-party claims and certify all information is true and authorized.
